Jesus - Apostle
Wherefore, Holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider
the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus. Hebrews 3:1 (KJV)
An apostle is a person sent to accomplish a specific task. Paul was an
apostle to the Gentiles - the non-Jewish people. He was sent to the Gentiles to
proclaim the good news (gospel) of Jesus, the Anointed One. Peter was an apostle
to the Jews.
Jesus is our apostle. His commission is to accomplish, or bring to pass, our
profession of faith. The words we say - confess, profess, declare - direct the
ministry of Jesus our Apostle.
When you declare by faith, "By His stripes I have been healed,"
Jesus is your Apostle of healing. Jesus works on your behalf to bring the
healing into manifestation in your body.
Need peace? Make your profession that the peace of God, which passes all
understanding, guards my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Jesus is your Apostle
of peace.
Now Jesus ministry as the Apostle of our profession is limited. Jesus is not
the Apostle of our declaration that the Word of God is false. Jesus is the Word
made flesh. He is the way, the truth, and the life. If we confess how sick we
are, how we always get sick, how nothing seems to work, Jesus is not at work
bringing those words to pass.
An apostle worked signs, wonders, and miracles (2 Corinthians 12:12). Jesus
works signs, wonders, and miracles to confirm your profession of faith.
