Word - Logos

Faith comes by the Word of God.
Faith grows by the Word of God.

God's word comes to us in different expressions. Jesus is the very Living Word of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

We also have the written Word of God - the Logos. We refer to the written word as the scriptures, the Bible, the Law, the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The written Word of God came through men, inspired by the Holy Spirit, over many thousands of years. Still, the written Word is without error in the original languages (Hebrew and Greek).

Is Life and Health
My son, give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22

Brings Prosperity and Success
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8

Is Powerful
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Brings Freedom
If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31

God's written Word - the Logos - is a key to our victory. When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert after fasting for forty days, He stood upon the written Word. Three times the devil tempted Him, and each time Jesus responded: "It is written..."

When we face temptation, pressure, or the testing of our faith, we can respond the same as Jesus: "It is written...

• By His stripes I am healed!
  
• My God shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus!
  
• I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!
