I Am!
In Exodus 3:14 God says to Moses,
"I AM who I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has
sent me to you.’"
At first, this verse may be a little
confusing because you may think "I AM what?" There are myriads of
things you could use to fill in the blank in that sentence, but I don’t think
God meant it that way. God is everything we could ever want or need. He is the
greatest, most infinitely merciful being that just the one or two words we would
use to end the sentence "I am _____" would never be able to adequately
describe Him. You see, God knew that the Israelites would go through some trying
times where the devil would encourage them to "curse God and die". He
wanted them to know that when they went through a trial so hard it looked like
there was no coming back that "I am." God is greater than any problem
that could ever come up against us. When satan throws his best hardship at us,
God is!
Matthew 28:19 says, "And surely I
am with you always, to the very end of the age." Hebrews 13:8 says,
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. These verses
tell us that God is forever and that He is with us forever. Think about
that: I AM. When ever we need Him (which is really ALL the time) God is!!! So
the next time the devil tries to convince you that you can’t handle what he is
attacking you with, tell him without a doubt that MY GOD IS!
